The Countdown Begins
In one week, I’ll be boarding a trans-Atlantic plane for Belgium, my new home until May. The last couple of months in the United States have been a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with my family and friends. Here’s what I’ve been up to.
An Intercultural Exchange
After months of my family accusing me of inventing a foreign girlfriend, Ekaterina finally visited the US and proved them all wrong (winning them over in the process). We visited the Space Needle, went to the Chihuly glass museum, and visited other assorted tourist destinations.
We rang in the 20s, having a roaring good time in the process.
See that sword? Well, look what I can do. Shoutout to Kevin Miller for spearheading the operation back in South Africa.
To be clear, this took me quite a few tries.
A Winter Wonderland
In mid-January, Seattle had a little snow. Walking in a winter wonderland was a nice change of pace from the rather monotonous rain.
A Pit Stop in LA
After the snow, a week-long stay with friends in LA was the perfect way to warm back up. I don’t know if I’ll ever live in Los Angeles again, but it was good to be back.
Onward!
On February 4th (the day after my wonderful mother’s day of birth), I’ll be heading to Belgium, where I’ll be for 75% of the next four months. I’ve been attempting to get my Dutch up to speed, but the words are just too damn long!
Ik ben enthousiast voor alles!
