Iguazu (Argetina)
Not to be outdone by the Brazilian side, Argentina offered extraordinary views of Iguazu Falls, including the incredible Garganta del Diablo (the Devil’s Throat). After weighing the pros and the cons, we decided that the Argentina side was better overall.
There were some lovely walking trails that went through the forests. We thought it would be a peaceful day. We were mistaken.
The “forces of nature” were not to be reckoned with. We saw numerous nifflers (actually called “coatis” on the Argentina side) roaming around the falls. We even saw someone who was bitten! We also witnessed the theft of an orange. We decided it was better to look ridiculous running away from the nifflers than to risk peril.
Nevertheless, we moved forward. We saw some incredible views.
A little closer…
Even closer!
It was amazing to see so many waterfalls. They were all over the place–significantly more numerous than the Brazilian side. It was incredible to see nature at work.
We eventually made our way to La Garganta, which was very exciting. It was incredible to see the volume of the water than cascaded downward. The force was impressive!
Feast your eyes on its majesty.
After the climax of the falls, we walked back to the entrance to wait for our ride. In addition to dodging endless packs of nifflers, we also saw this!
Luckily, we made it out alive. Honestly, the nifflers seemed to pose more of a threat. Now we’re off to Rio for some time on the beach!
