Cages of Light
We’re surrounded by cages of light.
Secure in our darkness we dare not depart.
What if we burn ourselves on the possibilities?
In Plato’s cave we see shadows of our soul.
Our skin stretches thin; our minds confined.
We become unwhole.
Evolution’s fear kept we humans alive,
but we’re not those humans anymore.
There’s further to strive.
Our sympathetic nervous system shows no sympathy: fight or flee.
Why not just be?
There’s nothing between ourselves and our self.
Recover your soul from the fear that you’ve felt.
When you see that you’re free the disease starts to melt.
Put your sunglasses on and step into the bliss,
and you’ll never miss life before freedom’s kiss.
